FINLOCK & CONCRETE GUTTERS

Re-lining & repair specialists

Finlock & concrete gutters have been used in council houses, factories, churches and schools since the war, as resources such as cast iron and other materials were exhausted. A finlock & concrete gutter sits on top of a cavity wall, with the block visible & half hidden away within the structure of the house. The protruding half(with a trough) acts as the concrete gutter, whilst the section hidden within the house provides a counterbalance. The section within the house sits against the internal plastering.

There are only 2 ways to get rid of leaking finlock gutters:

1.Re-lining
2.Complete removal & replacement with a traditional gutter system

Guttercare can ensure a watertight barrier by using an aluminium finlock gutter liner machine. This equipment can make and fabricate a liner to ensure that the concrete is non-porous, which will eliminate mildew over the window lintels. Guttercare guarantee finlock gutter liners for 10 years and we have been the leading contractor for carrying out this work for local councils and housing associations throughout the area.
